Aiming small is a crime when it comes to the youth. Because ignited minds of the youth is the most powerful resource on the earth. It has the power of bringing transformational changes in humanity.
In India, today, every third person in a city is a youth. And by 2020, it is about to become the youngest country in the world, with 64% of its population in the working age group. The population burden of the past is about to turn into a demographic dividend. Thus offering the country an exceptional advantage over other global economies.
Findings also state that this advantage will however be mellowed down because of social and spatial inequalities resulting in a large percentage of unemployable manpower. And while this scenario needs more significant government intervention, smaller and individual level efforts are also a critical need of the hour.
IGCSM has been pursuing a motto to Educate, Enable and Empower. It has been working on educating children in order to prepare them for becoming the better youth for the country. It has been working on developing the youth for becoming more skilled and employable. And it has been working with a special focus on girls and young women. Since its inception in 2008, it has touched and improved the lives of more than 50,000 people across 15 states in India.
